Identity and origin
Fenghuang Dancong is a family of Chaozhou oolongs selected and named through cultivar, tree line and aroma traditions. It is not one single flavor.
Craft and leaf style
Mature leaves are sun-withered, shaken, oxidized, fixed, rolled into strips and roasted. Precise oxidation develops fragrance without sacrificing body.
Aroma, taste and texture
Depending on type, cups can evoke honey orchid, gardenia, ginger flower, almond, pomelo blossom, fruit or spice over a firm mineral structure.
Practical guidance
Use 6-8g per 100ml with boiling water and very quick early pours to control bitterness.
