01Guide

Pu'er is one of China's most complex tea systems. It is not defined only by flavor, but by origin, material, processing, compression, storage and time.

Raw Pu'er begins as sun-dried maocha. It can taste floral, bitter, sweet, mineral, wild or powerful depending on origin and processing. Over time, with suitable storage, raw Pu'er can become deeper and smoother.

Ripe Pu'er was developed to create a darker, smoother, more mature profile through controlled pile-fermentation. It often has earthy, woody, jujube-like or mellow notes.

For PRIMTEA, Pu'er is a source-anchor category because it connects tea to Yunnan ancient tea forests, mountain communities, time and the practice of slow attention.
