Location and hierarchy
The five names refer to separate settlements or garden areas around Bingdao Village in Mengku Town. Official protection registers identify old-tea-garden boundaries for several of these places, reinforcing that they are not one undivided garden.
Why this origin matters
The framework is useful for learning fine-grained origin geography, but it is also a high-risk commercial naming system because prices can differ sharply between Laozhai, the other villages and broader Mengku material.
How to read the market name
Require the complete village name. Distinguish 'Bingdao Laozhai', another named member of the five-village group, a five-village blend and merely 'Bingdao-area' material.
Practical guidance
Create a source table with five rows and keep each sample's supplier, harvest, garden, fresh-leaf weight and finished yield. This is more useful than memorizing five taste slogans.
Identification and caution
Sweetness, cooling sensation or high price cannot identify one of the five villages. The name requires documentary provenance.
