Set up the brew
Use a pot, mug or basket infuser large enough for leaves to open. Weigh about 2-3g per 250ml and choose temperature by tea family rather than using boiling water for everything.
Method, step by step
Preheat only if heat loss is a concern, add leaf, pour water and start a timer. Remove the basket or decant fully at the target time. A second infusion often needs slightly hotter water or more time.
How to adjust by taste
A strong but thin cup often means too much time and too little leaf; add a little more leaf and shorten the steep. If flavor is weak but pleasant, extend by 30 seconds before changing several variables.
Practical guidance
Try 3g of black tea in 300ml at 90-95°C for three minutes. For green tea, use 75-85°C and start around two minutes.
Identification and caution
The method is not inferior to gongfu brewing. It answers a different need: a stable cup with less equipment and attention.
