Identity and origin
Baihao Yinzhen is a bud-only white tea made from plump, down-covered spring buds. Its value lies in material and careful withering, not in the visual presence of white hairs alone.
Craft and leaf style
Whole buds are withered and dried with minimal physical disruption. Uneven weather or drying can create dull, sour or grassy defects.
Aroma, taste and texture
Subtle wildflower, fresh hay, cucumber, melon and a silky, cooling texture may appear.
Practical guidance
Use 3-4g per 250ml at 85-95°C for 3-5 minutes; buds often need more time than their delicate look suggests.
Identification and caution
Confirm origin, cultivar, harvest and whether the material is truly bud-only. Very pale liquor is not automatically weak or superior.
