Identity and origin
Raw Pu'er is sun-dried Yunnan tea sold loose or compressed without ripe-tea pile fermentation. It can be vivid when young and change gradually with storage.
Craft and leaf style
Fresh leaf is fixed at moderated heat, rolled and sun-dried into maocha, then sorted, blended and optionally steamed and compressed.
Aroma, taste and texture
Floral, herb, stone fruit, honey, mineral, bitterness and returning sweetness vary strongly by origin, material and age.
Practical guidance
Use 5g per 100ml at 95-100°C with fast early pours.
Identification and caution
Do not buy on year or mountain name alone. Confirm material, batch, storage and whether the cup is clean and balanced.
